Putting the fun into fundraising

Exercise might not be everyone’s idea of fun, but it’s certainly boosted funds for JLC in the last month! First up was the London Marathon, which JLC supporter Simon Phillips ran in  an impressive three hours, raising an even more impressive £1,897. Next was the Rotary Club of Sunbury & Shepperton’s 10k charity walk, which a team of JLC trustees and supporters completed last Sunday, raising £575 in sponsorship (with more still to be collected!). It helped that the sun shone for both events, making them enjoyable as well as rewarding – though perhaps the walk was more enjoyable than the marathon – with

fewer blisters! The money raised from these events will make a huge difference in Wawa. JLC takes no UK expenses, so every penny will go directly to improving lives in Wawa – whether this is paying for a cookery or clothes making course to help adults to learn employable skills to support themselves, or helping children to reach their full potential through basic skills, nutrition and having a safe place to play.

Thank you to everyone who supported these events. Children and families in Wawa greatly appreciate it.
